Frequently asked questions
Do you have to heat the sauna yourself?
Yes, you need to heat up the sauna yourself, or you can arrange for it to be pre-heated by contacting info@restuudio.ee or 55522226 (for a fee of €20). It is possible that the sauna will already be warm if there is a booking immediately before yours, but you cannot always count on that.
How long does it take to heat up a sauna?
The sauna takes about an hour to heat up.
Do I have to bring my own firewood?
No, firewood and everything needed to start a fire (matches, fire starters) are provided on-site. In rainy weather, it is advisable to bring spare matches, as damp matches may not light well.
How many people can fit in the sauna?
The sauna accommodates approximately 10 people.
What to do if more people come to the sauna than originally booked?
You can transfer the fee for additional guests to Re Stuudio MTÜ’s bank account (EE752200221075873847) or pay in cash using the donation box located in the sauna.
What to do if you can't come to the sauna at the booked time?
The booking cannot be cancelled, but we can reschedule if possible. To change your booking, please contact info@kloogakosk.ee.
Does the raft have seating for a group?
No, the raft features a steam room, a small changing room (approx. 2 m²), and a small terrace (approx. 5 m²) where you can enjoy the sun in good weather.
Can you also go for a swim in the lake from the sauna?
Yes, you can go straight from the raft into the lake for a swim. In winter, an ice hole is kept open.
Is there a toilet in the sauna?
No, during the summer season, a public toilet is available for use in the Klooga swimming area parking lot.
Is there hot water in the sauna?
There are no washing facilities in the sauna; for rinsing off, you can use water heated in the sauna or swim in the lake.
Is there electricity in the sauna?
The steam room and changing room are equipped with battery-powered lights that provide dim illumination after dark; while we charge them regularly, they may sometimes run out of power. Please bring an additional battery-powered light if possible. The use of open-flame candles is not permitted.
Where can I park the car?
Klooga järve ujumiskoha äärsesse parklasse, Maeru tee 4 parklasse, Klooga rongijaama parklasse vm aleviteede äärde kus parkimine ei ole keelatud. NB! Juhime tähelepanu, et seoses bussiliikluse takistamise ennetamisega on Aedlinna sõidutee äärde parkimine lubatud ainult märgistatud parkimiskohtadel. Samuti palume autoga mitte sõita mööda terviseraja kõnniteed.

Heating instructions
- Place the firewood on the grate at the back of the combustion chamber, leaving sufficient air gaps between the logs. Light the kindling and close the heater door. The heater must not be used with the door open.
- The chimney has no damper; the draft can be regulated by opening or closing the heater's ash tray. Keep the ash tray slightly ajar at the start of firing to ensure better airflow. Once the fire is burning well and the sauna is already hot, the ash tray can be closed.
- Do not overheat the sauna heater! The recommended sauna temperature is 70–80°C. Temperatures exceeding 100°C or prolonged exposure to high heat will burn out the heater.
- Pour water only onto the sauna stones and in small amounts. Allow the stones to heat up again before pouring more water.
- If you are the last sauna guests, please leave the sauna door open so the room can air out.
- If you notice any irregularities in the operation of the sauna heater or chimney—for example, smoke entering the sauna room or the sauna failing to heat up (after one hour of heating in summer or 1.5 hours in winter)—stop using the heater and notify the sauna manager.
Enjoy the steam!
Klooga Kosk valmimise lugu
Klooga Kosk was completed in 2022 through a collaboration between Re Stuudio MTÜ and the Estonian Academy of Arts (EKA) as part of a construction internship for interior architecture students. The inspiration for creating a community sauna stemmed from the Klooga community’s tradition of celebrating the “Viska Leili” sauna day on February 24th.
“Klooga Waterfall” symbolizes purification on the levels of the individual, Klooga’s past, and the environment. The roofs of the steam room and changing room channel rainwater toward the center of the building, creating a waterfall effect. “Klooga Waterfall” generates fresh, flowing energy for visitors and the community, offering an opportunity to connect with the natural environment.
